Ane Carla Rovetta
Earth to Art
It gives Ane Carla great joy to create works of art that are nontoxic, easy to use and unique.
Soil Colors
Ane Carla has collected soils from all over the Western United States. She grinds these soils, minerals, soot, insect carapaces and seaweeds to make chalk, paints and frescos.
She incorporates milk, eggs, soap, lime, tree saps and soaproot plants into the art supplies that she creates.
Historic Inks
Ane Carla researches and revives history ink recipes. Carbon soot, iron, green tea, redwood cones, oak gulls, walnut hulls, and pomegranates are examples of ink ingredients.
Frescoes
Ane Carla studied fresco-making in Italy. She has adapted fresco techniques to many styles of modem painting as well as making "traditional" fresco.
